I built GeoHound because I was tired of digging through a browser’s network requests to find the data behind a web map.
It runs quietly while you browse. When a page loads a map service, GeoHound spots it and saves it: WMS, WMTS, WFS, ArcGIS FeatureServer and MapServer, OGC API endpoints, tiles and around 29 service and file types in all. For each one it records the title, provider, layers, keywords, coordinate system and bounding box, tests whether the service allows cross-origin requests, and formats the URL so it can be pasted straight into QGIS or ArcGIS Pro.
It has a few thousand users, mostly GIS people who spend their days hunting for data.
