The MapScaping podcast covers GIS, remote sensing, earth observation and the technology around them. It has run to more than 270 episodes, released roughly twice a month.
Guests range from open-source maintainers and university researchers to the people running mapping companies. Recent episodes have covered cloud-native geospatial for small teams, Overture Maps and the GERS identifier system, satellite positioning, and turning aerial imagery into searchable data.
Running it has kept me close to how the industry is changing and given me a working knowledge of far more tools and data sources than I would ever use in a single job.
