Samn Forsyning is a Danish water and utility company. As GIS project leader I was responsible for its network data and for how staff across the organisation got at it.
Day to day that meant editing and maintaining network data, handling as-built data as projects moved through construction and into maintenance, automating the processing around it in Python, producing maps, and answering data requests from colleagues.
The largest project was moving the utility’s web GIS from a hosted service to one we ran ourselves. That gave us control over the data, the updates and the integration with our other systems, and let us shape the web interface around what staff in the office and in the field actually needed.
